Mischaël Modrikamen was born on 22 February 1966 in Charleroi. Mischaël is married with Yasmine Dehaene, a lawyer, and they have three sons (Nathan, Raphaël and Sasha).
In 1984, Mischaël moved to Brussels and he has obtained a master in law from Brussels University in 1989 (magna cum laude).
His father Marcel, son of a polish immigrant, was arrested by the Gestapo as a resistant and became a preeminent political leader and trade unionist in Charleroi after the war until his death in 1995.
M Modrikamen has always been very active in the associative sector. He was twice the president of Beth Hillel synagogue in Brussels and has been the Chairman of Weizmann.be, the Belgian branch of one of the leading scientific institution in the world (http://www.weizmann.ac.il).
